Hozier, Sousa & The Remix Scene

“Infernal machines” – that’s how Sousa described the likes of the gramophone and any other technology that could replace instruments themselves. He feared a world where amateur music was obsolete and industries were the sole producers of sound. A world where people would become passive consumers rather than active contributors. Fear no more dear Sousa, those “infernal machines” are doing quite the opposite. (Lessig, 2008)
